The 1290 is powered by either a 40hp (30kw) Briggs & Stratton Vanguard EFI or a 54HP (40kw) Kubota Petrol engine.

The Red Roo 1290 uses an exclusive sliding carriage to engage the chipper disc on the Vanguard-powered option and a heavy-duty over-centre clutch on the Kubota-powered option.

A massive 300mm (12") x 230mm (9") feed opening allows for quick processing of branches with a diameter up to 230mm (9").
